If you have a 4×4 and enjoy off-roading, then a good suspension system is crucial. We’ve compiled this list of upgrades that we believe are necessary to tackle any terrain under your tires. The following are a Must Have for a 4×4 Suspension:
1. Poly-Ride –
This is a heavy duty suspension system that is designed to tackle four wheel drive, high clearance and off-roading. While we are big proponents of Poly-Ride, there are many different suspensions that work for off-roading. However, if you want a solid four wheel drive vehicle for all terrain, then the best is Poly-Ride Max Traction
2. Air Locker –
Air Locker is designed to be an air suspension system. However, it is commonly used as a lock for axles, so in this sense we consider it a must have for buy 4×4 suspension. If you are turning 35s or larger and want to be able to tackle any terrain then you are going to need an air locker, which can be set up in tandem with Poly-Ride. Air Lockers are also used for extra traction on the road, when engaged.
3. Superflex
Another suspension system that is designed specifically for off-roading. Superflex is designed to tackle any terrain and is even utilized by 4×4 Race Teams. It comes in two different lines, C6 and C8+, both of which are designed to tackle any terrain.
4. Bfg All Terrain T/A KO2s
The Bfg All Terrain T/A KO2s line of tires is made for off-roading. They are specifically designed to handle mud, dirt and snow. If you want a tire that can tackle any terrain you are going to need these tires. And if you have a set of BFG Mud Terrains, then you will just have a good time all around, wherever your travels take you.
5. BFG Mud Terrs & Bfg Mud Jacks
If you want a good set of mud tires, then you need to seriously consider the BFG Mud Terrains. These mud tires will allow you to tackle any terrain head on. They are super aggressive, which is a good thing. They are also extremely durable and will last for years in heavy off-roading conditions. While these aren’t the most popular brand of mud tires, when it comes to off-roading, you can’t go wrong with BFG.
6. Pro Comp Air Dam
Pro Comp Air Dams are designed for cars that are intended for use in extreme off-road competition.
